Supreme Court of NSW
As previously reported, an injunction on 24 March 2017 was placed on the Club by the Supreme Court of NSW following an application by Dr Kaja Lukaszewicz, Mr Mick Wykrota, Mr Dariusz Plust, Mr Waclaw Jagoszewski and Mr Wiesiek Pazdzior. This had the effect of stopping any progress regarding the property next door to the Club (75 Norton Street).
Our attempts to negotiate an outcome at a recent mediation were not successful. We can now report that on Monday 16 July 2018 in the Supreme Court of NSW, Justice Slattery ordered that the Club Board can proceed with its EOI (Expressions of Interest) campaign. This means we can proceed using our appointed agents JLL, who will run the campaign on our behalf and seek out best offers for our Club. Press release.
Shortly you will see billboards erected next door as well as on Liverpool Road. Images can be seen below. This together with their on-line campaign will allow the Board to receive and engage with interested parties regarding the burnt out building and car park next door (on 75 Norton Street). The Board as well as any appointed sub-committee will negotiate with preferred parties to select who is the best partner and what are the best terms for the developmentof 75 Norton Street. Several important points need to be made:
1. We still need further court orders to move beyond this information gathering and negotiation phase
2. The EOI (information gathering) and negotiation phase will take around 6 months
3. The existing Club operations at 73 Norton Street are not affected nor were they ever part of this project
4. The burnt out building next door has been in its current state for over 15 years and its development is critical to our future survival as it represents the only real opportunity to realise capital; retire debt, modernise the existing Club, create rent paying retail and residential premises and build additional facilities that will attract customers to our Club. This way we ensure our long term survival.
Because the matter is still before the courts we are not able to say much more at this stage.
We won the BizGiver grant!!
A very big thank you to everyone who voted for Sto Lat restaurant and cafe to help us finish with 502 votes. We really appreciate all your support!
